In memory of Rachel Corrie

In memory of Rachel Corrie, a young American woman who was killed ten years ago today by an Israeli bulldozer in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.  She gave this interview 2 days before she died.

She lived her short life thoughtfully, deliberately and consistently with her values.   Her parents have continued her work through the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace & Justice.

My pictures from the Corrie delegation’s visit to Gaza in November 2012,  are here, just days before Israel’s 8-day bombardment.

  1. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

  2. A Middle East Poet told me of Rachel Corrie in 2004. He called her the beautiful American. I wrote a poem for her. She is a hero to me.
    Beautiful American

(For Rachel Corrie. A human shield protecting woman and children.)

    Just a woman.

She gave her heart to people far from her home.

Stood in front of guns and machines to save lives.

    Protecting innocent people from.

The War machine in the hidden parts of the world from the world’s eye sight.

She stood in front of a building.

Was crushed and die by Israel machinery.

Her life was lost for woman/men.

Who call her the Beautiful American..

    Coyote

( Need to go to her site. Rachel Corrie.
People like her are the real Angels in a life.
    They died for peace.)
