Thanks to British filmmaker, Harry Fear, for sharing this videotape of a recent talk he gave in the UK about his trip to Gaza. An important part of his solidarity work is educating audiences back home about the realities on the ground in Gaza. I hope to do the same when I return to the US next Spring.
Nothing tells a story better than pictures, I think.
It’s difficult to understand how normalcy and terror can coexist in the same spot, but they do.
People carry on their lives despite the knowledge that a drone might shoot a missile through the wall of their apartment building, wounding innocent children. Israel’s ‘excuse’ or justification is that a Hamas official is a part-owner of the building. Innocent children are merely collateral damage.
I like Harry Fear’s passion, his voice, and his dedication to telling the truth.
